Privacy policy

This policy explains what the BLACKBONE app and the website at blackbone.tech collect, why we collect it, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what the app needs to track your training, we never sell your data, there are no ads, and you can delete everything at any time.
Who we are
BLACKBONE is run by BLACKBONE Ltd, a Colorado limited liability company, USA ("BLACKBONE", "we", "us"). We decide how your personal data is used and are responsible for it. Contact us at blackboneoffical@blackbone.tech.
What we collect
Your account. Your email address, how you sign in (email, Google or Apple), your username, display name and profile picture if you add one, and your settings (units, reminders and similar).
What you tell us during setup. Your goal, training experience, the days and session length you prefer, your equipment, and optionally your sex, birth year, height and weight. If you choose body areas to work around (for example a knee or lower back), we store that choice so the app can leave out exercises that load those areas.
Your training. Workouts, sets, weights, reps and times, notes, saved workouts, programs, personal records, favorite and recently viewed exercises, and mobility sessions.
Body tracking, if you use it. Body weight, body measurements and progress photos. Photos are stored privately and only you can open them.
Your subscription. Whether you have Pro, the plan, its status and renewal dates, and store transaction identifiers. Payment is handled by the App Store or Google Play; we never see or store your card details.
Reminders. The reminder times you choose. Reminders and rest-timer alerts are scheduled on your phone itself; we do not currently collect a push token.
Messages and reports. What you send us, such as support emails or a report that an exercise demo is wrong.
Technical data. Basic information our servers need to work and stay secure, such as your IP address, device type, operating system and app version, kept in short-lived server logs.
On this website. If you ask for account deletion on our deletion page, we store the email you enter and when you sent it. If you join the waitlist on our download page, we store your email, whether you offered to test the app, and when you joined. The website uses no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics tools.
What stays on your phone. The app keeps a copy of your data on your device so it works offline. If you lock progress photos with Face ID, a fingerprint or your passcode, that check happens on your device; we never receive your biometric data. The app only uses your camera or photo library when you choose to take or add a photo.
How we use it
- To run the app: save and sync your training, show your progress and history.
- To tailor it: suggest exercises, workouts and programs that fit your goal, level, equipment and the areas you want to work around.
- To give you Pro features when you have a subscription.
- To send the reminders you turn on.
- To answer your messages and handle requests such as account deletion.
- If you joined the waitlist: to email you when the app is available and, if you offered, to invite you to test it. Nothing else.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To meet legal obligations.
What we never do
- We never sell your personal data or share it for advertising. BLACKBONE has no ads.
- Our staff cannot view your progress photos, body measurements or workout logs. Our database rules block that access, including for administrators.
- We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.
Who helps us run BLACKBONE
We use a small number of service providers. They process data only to provide their service to us, under contracts that require them to protect it.
- Supabase: our database, sign-in system and private file storage.
- RevenueCat: keeps track of subscriptions bought in the app stores.
- Apple and Google: sign-in (if you choose it), in-app purchases and app distribution.
- Hostinger: hosts this website and our email.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy would continue to protect your data.
Where your data is stored
Our providers may store and process data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your account data is kept while you have an account. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, training data, measurements and photos. Copies in our providers' backups are removed as those backups expire.
- If you give a reason when deleting your account, we keep that note without anything that identifies you, to improve the app.
- Deletion requests made on this website are kept until they are handled and for up to one year after, as a record that we acted on them.
- Waitlist emails are kept until we have sent the launch email (and any tester invitation), or until you ask us to remove yours, whichever comes first.
- The app stores keep their own purchase records under their own policies.
How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit. Every table in our database has rules that limit each row to its owner, and personal files sit in private storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to fix problems quickly.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- see and correct most of your data in the app;
- delete your account and its data in the app, or ask on our deletion page;
- ask us for a copy of your data, or ask any question, at blackboneoffical@blackbone.tech;
- leave the waitlist at any time by emailing blackboneoffical@blackbone.tech;
- turn reminders off in the app or in your phone's settings.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you also have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. We rely on our contract with you to run the app, your consent for optional details such as body areas to work around, body tracking and reminders, our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure, and legal obligations. You can complain to your local data protection authority.
If you live in a US state with a privacy law (such as California), you can ask to know, correct or delete your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.
We answer requests within 30 days and may need to confirm it is really you first.
Age limit
BLACKBONE is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a younger person has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
